Kipona is an annual Labor Day weekend celebration on the banks of the Susquehanna, celebrating the achievements of American workers and paying homage to the great city of Harrisburg.

The festival, currently in its 102nd year, takes place at Riverfront Park and City Island and features three music stages with more than 30 bands, daily entertainment, delicious food and treats, artists village, biergarten, Native American Pow Wow, Festival of India, children’s festival with entertainment and face painting, and much more.

On Sunday, Sept 2nd, the 2nd annual rubber Duck Derby will take place at 6pm to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. For more information, see the Duck Derby’s event page.

The celebration will hold a fireworks display on Sunday, September 2nd at approximately 8:15pm.

Admission to the event is free. Street parking is free on Sunday and Monday. Parking is $5 on City Island and all day event parking is available for $10 at the Market Square garage.
